Vrb Blood Banks – Blood Bank Refrigerators
The range of FRB Series Blood Bank Refrigerators are not manufactured to comply fully with British Standard BS 4376:1991 (Part 1) and are offered as a lower cost alternative. They are, however, all fitted with a constantly recharged battery alarm system and a battery chart recorder as standard. The prices for additional combinations of separate chambers and compressors are available on request.Pass-Through refrigerators have doors front and back and can be loaded and unloaded from either side.
The “back” of the refrigerator is a blank panel with no controls or switches fitted. Note that the drawers on Pass-Through refrigerators are NOT self-closing and can only be partially extracted. All Lorne
Blood Bank Refrigerators
comply with current EC directives and are CE marked to conform to Machinery Directive 98/37/EC, EMC Directive 89/336/EC & 92/31/EC and Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EC & 93/68/EC. Blood Bank Refrigerators are NOT classed as Medical Devices to 93/42/EC.The British Standard BS 4376:1991 recommends (4.1) that there should be a minimum height of 150 mm below the cabinet to facilitate cleaning and (4.2) that braking castors are fitted. These are all fitted as standard on larger
Blood Bank Refrigerators
(700, 1500 & 2300 litres), and can be fitted to all models if required. However, to keep the height of the smaler models down as far as practicable 120, 130, 170, 250, 290 and 400 litre VRB models are usually fitted with four simple roller or smaller castors without braking.
The full height braking castors can be fitted to these models on request at no extra charge, but this will add to the total height of the machines and may preclude under-bench.All Lorne VRB Blood Bank Refrigerators are manufactured to comply with the British Standards BS 4376:1991 (Part 1) and with BS 2501:1992. They are classified as Class 1 (up to 50 bags), Class 2 (50 to 150 bags), Class 3 (over 150 bags). Blood Bank Refrigerators are designated Type 1 (single refrigeration system) or Type 2 (dual independent refrigeration system). Refrigerators with multiple chambers may be a mixture of both types (T1/T2) depending on the exact specification.
