Daily Deals – Understanding the Fine Print
Everyone knows the fine print exists, but how many people actually read it? When it comes to daily deal sites, the fine print may be the most important part of the deal. So much information is taken for granted in the fine print, that you just might miss out on a great deal. Here are some of the essential categories to look for when you’re deciding to purchase a daily deal coupon.
Expiration Date: You don’t always buy the deal to use right away. In fact, most people save the daily deal coupons for that theoretical “rainy day.” If you plan on holding onto the deal for a few months, make sure that it won’t expire before you go to use it.
Location: Oftentimes, you’ll see a deal for one of your favorite spots, that may be a chain location. Make sure you know where the deal is valid, and if it is valid at a location near you. The last thing you want is to buy a deal that’s going to be a road trip away. Unless, of course, that’s what you’re going for.
Hours of Operation: When is the location open? Additionally, what days of the week is this coupon valid for? Sometimes the deals are only usable on weekdays, which may not work into your schedule. You want to make sure that you can get to the location at a time that it is valid, before it expires.
Exclusions/Inclusions: Some daily deal sites will list out the different products or services that are excluded from the coupon. Typically excluding higher priced items, this is the cut and dry version of the fine print. With other sites, you may find a list of included products and services. You should be more cautious with the inclusion clauses. Make sure that the products and services that are included suit your purposes, because it could well mean that everything else is off limits.
Alcohol: Every state has a different law regarding alcohol. Even in states that allow coupons to be used on alcohol, some businesses choose not to include alcohol in their deal coupons. Make sure you know whether alcohol is a part of the deal if you’re intending to consume alcoholic libations.
There are many other things in the world of daily deal fine print, so make sure to read it carefully. After you’ve got that squared away, have fun using those deals. They’ll save you money and give you a great experience to enjoy.
