Make Backyardigans Birthday Invitations At Home
The Backyardigans, although popular, can make for a not so adopted theme for your kid’s birthday. Children between the age of 2 and 5 years absolutely love this Canadian TV show. You can actually make Backyardigans birthday invitations right at home and have some fun. This is project is perfectly feasible if you don’t have too many guests attending the party.
Before you set out creating the invitations, it is important that you are aware of the characters in the wow. All you have to do is make paper representations of these characters and stick them into the invitations. Now that you are convinced of the project, gather some equipment for the job such as felt pens, different colored cardstocks, art paper and other such things.
Let us begin with Pablo who leads all the other characters of the show in most of the episodes. To make costumes for Pablo with paper, first focus on the beanie and then the rest. Cut out a circle proportionate to your invitation size (about 20 percent of the invitation size). Also get some yellow cardstock for some small stripes.
Next, take those yellow stripes and stick them on the blue circle. Now you want to create the propeller that Pablo has on his cap. You will need a red cardstock for this. There is nothing complicated, just cut the paper in the shape of a propeller. You should take care of such minute details so that you can make the Backyardigans birthday invitations more enticing for the kids attending it.
If you have made one character of the show, the other Backyardigans should be easy to make. Next, try to replicate the backyard, which is the scene of the show. If you have watched the show at some time with your child, you know how the backyard looks. Even if you don’t know, you can pick some ideas from your own backyard (or your neighbor’s!). It could make for a refreshing change.
However, in most cases, it is also better to draw a backyard on the invitation that is exactly like the one on the television show. If you are creative enough, you will also be able to make a different backyard altogether and fit the characters into it. Draw all the greenery with the grass, woods, trees, rocks and whatever you have seen on the show.
Now you have created the entire scene of the Backyardigans show. You can add some of the side characters if you want to. Also, design the invitation in a way that gets the children excited about the opening the invitation itself. You don’t need to do anything complicated though. Use a zipper pull for children to open the invitation to add another layer of excitement.
Making the Backyardigans birthday invitations yourself can be a challenge, but at the same time, it is really exciting in itself. To get more creative inputs, get help from the birthday child too. It will make the child feel the part and it is also a good way of showing your child how much you love him or her.
